Placements24 is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will support project managers with technical expertise and oversee construction engineering aspects across building projects, ensuring specs are met with precision.

The role involves planning, design review, on-site execution, QA, and collaboration with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Hybrid work options available in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction engineering or project management experience.
• Experience as a project engineer on building or infrastructure projects.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and SA codes/standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software and engineering design tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in office and site environments in Tembisa, Gauteng.
• Familiarity with project management software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in planning and coordinating project activities (scope, timelines, resources).
• Provide technical engineering support from design review to on-site execution.
• Review drawings, specifications to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
• Manage and supervise construction activities on-site with QA measures.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor progress, report milestones, and assist in progress reports.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers for seamless execution.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Manage procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to ensure timely availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges during construction.
