Job summary

Green Marble Recruitment Consultants is seeking a Health & Safety Officer with 3–5 years of relevant experience in a health & safety role, preferably with construction/scaffolding exposure. A SAMTRAC or OHS Diploma is expected, along with knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act and familiarity with Passport 360 and HSEC Online.

The role requires excellent written and verbal English, strong attention to detail, and the ability to log, track, and investigate incidents while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of health & safety experience in the field.
• Qualification such as SAMTRAC or an OHS Diploma.
• Construction/scaffolding background.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Experience with Passport 360 and HSEC Online.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong attention to detail and administrative ability.

Responsibilities

• Compile, update, and maintain comprehensive health and safety files.
• Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and SOPs.
• Conduct regular site and floor inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Assist with logging, tracking, and investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
• Coordinate employee safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Maintain accurate employee safety training and certification records.
• Audit and maintain first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and PPE registers.
• Monitor safety compliance and ensure required corrective actions are followed up.
• Assist with ongoing OHSA and Construction Regulations compliance.
• Prepare safety presentations, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Operations and H&S team.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across the workplace.
