Job summary

Prime South Africa is seeking a Compliance Junior Manager to lead a team of compliance professionals, manage risks and enhance governance across the business. The role partners with operational leaders to implement controls and drive continuous improvement.

The candidate will oversee risk assessments, corrective actions, and management reporting, with a focus on improving compliance maturity and reducing residual risk. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in BCom, LLB, Risk Management, Compliance or related field is essential.
• Proficient Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting, data analysis and dashboard creation.
• Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboards would be advantageous.
• Excellent writing, reporting and communication skills.
• Minimum of 2–4 years relevant work experience in compliance, risk management, governance, audit, legal, financial services or regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Compliance Professionals, ensuring consistency, quality and completeness of reviews, monitoring activities and risk assessments.
• Oversee Annual Compliance Plan activities and ensure timely, quality execution.
• Identify, assess and address significant risks; monitor corrective actions and risk reduction outcomes.
• Review compliance testing, audit work and monitoring activities.
• Prepare and present management reporting on compliance performance, risk trends and control effectiveness.
• Collaborate with business leaders to implement controls and improve processes.
• Monitor contract obligations, governance requirements and supplier/commercial risk.
• Develop dashboards and reporting packs for management and executives.
• Coach and train Compliance Professionals and contribute to training materials.
