Placements24 in Midrand, Gauteng is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our dedicated team. The role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and group counseling to individuals battling addiction.

The ideal candidate holds a Masters degree in Counseling or a related field, plus SA licensure (SACAP/HPCSA) and at least four years of clinical experience. Travel within Gauteng may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
• Professional certification or licensure in South Africa (SACAP or HPCSA).
• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience with substance abuse clients.
• Knowledge of addiction theories, treatment modalities and recovery principles.
• Strong counseling, listening and empathetic skills.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of substance use history and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling for addiction and co-occurring issues.
• Educate clients and families about addiction and relapse prevention.
• Facilitate therapeutic activities and support groups.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
