Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Elderly Care Assistant to provide essential support and companionship to seniors in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on comfort, safety, and well-being within clients’ homes or assisted living facilities.

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health indicators, and accompany clients to appointments while maintaining dignity and independence. A compassionate, patient approach and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience as a caregiver or in a similar role, preferably with the elderly.
• First Aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
• Familiarity with the Klerksdorp area is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
• Help with mobility, including transferring and walking, using assistive devices.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for side effects.
• Perform light housekeeping duties and laundry.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments or social outings.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
• Monitor vital signs and report any changes to supervisors or healthcare providers.
• Ensure the client's environment is safe and hazard-free.
• Maintain clear and accurate care records.
