Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Sports Development Officer to drive participation and activity in Welkom and surrounding areas. You will design, implement and manage diverse sports programs engaging various age groups, collaborating with schools, clubs, and community groups to secure funding and deliver impactful initiatives.

Key focus areas include developing strategic plans, organizing events, fostering partnerships, and promoting healthy lifestyles across the region.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Sports Management or related discipline.
• Experience in sports development or community engagement.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for sports development in the community.
• Organize and coordinate community sports events, festivals, and competitions.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, clubs, organizations and stakeholders.
• Seek funding opportunities through grants and sponsorships to support initiatives.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and sport through outreach and marketing campaigns.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, reporting on participation and impact.
