Job summary

The Open Window is inviting applications for a full-time Lecturer in Communication Design. The role involves teaching undergraduate students across Centurion and Johannesburg campuses, developing curricula, mentoring learners, and building industry links.

Starting date 6 January 2027; remuneration between R320 000 and R400 000 per annum, negotiable within the stated range. A comprehensive portfolio and NQF8 degree are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum NQF Level 8 qualification in the Communication Design/Graphic Design/Information Design field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Comprehensive industry-based Communication Design portfolio required.

Responsibilities

• Teach the subject Communication Design to undergraduate students at Centurion and Johannesburg campuses.
• Develop and maintain course content and documentation; contribute to curriculum development.
• Mentor students and provide ongoing support through contact sessions and digital channels.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments and record final achievements.
• Participate in Open Window events and initiatives; collaborate with other lecturers.
• Maintain knowledge of digital and traditional workflows; keep software skills up-to-date.
• Foster industry relationships to create opportunities and collaborations.
