Job summary

ARCS in Durban is seeking an experienced Commercial Workshop Manager to lead a busy service operation for the commercial vehicle sector. The role requires at least five years in a workshop leadership position within a dealership environment, with strong people management and a deep knowledge of workshop processes, costing and warranty procedures.

You will supervise technicians and foremen, drive productivity, monitor KPIs and labour profitability, and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Commercial Workshop Manager in the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Dealership experience is essential and required.
  • Proven track record in workshop operations, technicians and productivity.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of workshop processes, job costing, warranty procedures and aftersales.
  • Ability to monitor workshop efficiency, labour sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the commercial workshop.
  • Lead, coach and develop technicians, foremen and workshop staff.
  • Ensure maximum workshop productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs, labour sales and profitability.
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance meet manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee quality control and on-time delivery of vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and company policies.
  • Collaborate with Parts and Service for smooth operations.
  • Prepare reports and manage workshop performance.
