You will read manuals, use diagnostic software, keep accurate records and contribute to safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience as Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Trade qualification (NQF Level 3/4 in Diesel Mechanical Technology) preferred.
• Proven experience with diesel engines, heavy transmissions and air brake systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment for commercial vehicles.
• Strong hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems knowledge in heavy vehicles.
• Physically capable in a demanding workshop environment.
• Valid Code 10 or higher driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of commercial vehicle services, is looking for a skilled and dedicated Commercial Vehicle Technician (Heavy Duty) to join their growing operation in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is essential for maintaining the operational readiness of a fleet of heavy-duty trucks and other commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and hydraulic systems common in commercial transport. You will be responsible for performing complex repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles. This is a hands‑on role requiring physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.

Requirements
