Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our Richards Bay team in KwaZulu-Natal. You will maintain a fleet of trucks and heavy vehicles, perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs, and ensure safety and quality workmanship.

Applicants should have proven hands-on experience with diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, with a valid code 10 or higher license preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, preferably with a large fleet.
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, transmissions, differentials, and braking systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment for heavy vehicles, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
• Maintain accurate service records of parts and labor hours.
• Respond to roadside breakdowns or emergency repair needs when required.
• Keep the workshop clean, organized and safe.

Requirements
