Placements24 is seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Mechanic for a busy Port Elizabeth workshop. You will diagnose, repair, and service heavy‑duty trucks, trailers and other commercial vehicles to meet safety and performance standards.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in diagnostic tools and knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems. A Code 14 license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working on heavy‑duty commercial vehicles.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license; Code 14 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Conduct thorough inspections and identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
