Placements24 is seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy Stellenbosch workshop in the Western Cape. You will diagnose, repair and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks and buses, ensuring safety and reliability.

You must have relevant trade certifications (NQF Level 3+), hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A Code 10 or higher driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified Commercial Vehicle Mechanic with relevant trade certifications (e.g., NQF Level 3 or higher).
• Proven experience working on heavy-duty trucks, buses, or other commercial vehicles.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and specialized tools for vehicle repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a workshop environment.
• A valid driver's license is required; Code 10 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose engines, transmissions, braking, and electrical systems in commercial vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments.
• Repair or replace faulty components using appropriate tools.
• Keep accurate maintenance records for each vehicle.
• Advise fleet manager on repairs and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical systems of commercial vehicles.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments.
