Placements24 is seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Technician for a busy Centurion workshop. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and light commercial vehicles to ensure safety, compliance, and peak performance.

You will work with a well-equipped facility, interpret technical manuals, and provide accurate repair estimates while maintaining detailed service records and upholding manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician with relevant certifications.
• 3–5 years of experience with heavy‑duty and commercial vehicles.
• Proficient in diagnosing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brakes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and certified Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop in Centurion . This role is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of their fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant, and running at peak performance. You will diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and light commercial vehicles. This hands‑on position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. The successful candidate will work in a well-equipped facility, contributing directly to the efficiency and reliability of the company's transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
• Inspect vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Identify faulty parts and malfunctions, and provide accurate cost estimates for repairs.
• Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

Requirements

• Qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician with relevant certifications (e.g., Diesel Mechanic qualification).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brakes.
