Placements24 is actively seeking an experienced Commercial Van Driver to operate from Centurion, Gauteng. You will plan routes, deliver and collect parcels to business and residential addresses, and ensure service levels meet client expectations.

The role blends on-road duties with remote administrative tasks, supported by dispatch. A valid Code 08/EB license, 3+ years driving, and strong communication are essential; hybrid work is available for routing and documentation.

Qualificações

• Valid Code 08/EB or higher driver's license with clean record.
• Minimum 3 years professional driving experience with vans or light trucks.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the express parcel and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced Commercial Van Driver to operate out of their strategic Centurion, Gauteng hub. This role is essential for ensuring the seamless flow of packages and documents within the metropolitan area and immediate surrounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient route planning and execution, maintaining vehicle integrity, and providing a high level of service to our business clients. Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial panel vans and cargo vans for delivery and pickup services within the greater Centurion, Gauteng area.
• Effectively plan and execute daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of parcels, packages, and documents to commercial and residential addresses.
• Conduct daily pre-drive and post-drive inspections of the assigned vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
• Manage the secure loading and unloading of goods, confirming order accuracy against manifests.
• Collect payments or obtain required signatures and proof of delivery upon completion of deliveries.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization to professional standards.
• Adhere strictly to all South African traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other stakeholders regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
• Utilize handheld scanning devices or mobile applications for real-time tracking and delivery confirmation.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license (Code 08/EB or higher) with an impeccable driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably with commercial vans or light trucks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the road network in and around Centurion, Gauteng .
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet demanding delivery schedules.
• Good physical condition to handle loading and unloading of items up to a specified weight limit.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions on the road.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage remote administrative tasks efficiently.
