Job summary

Akilconnect is seeking a procurement professional in South Africa to coordinate RFT packs, govern vendor shortlisting, and invite tender briefings. You will develop TCO models and manage contracts to maximize value while ensuring governance and compliance.

The role requires NQF Level 6/7 in Logistics/Purchasing, 5 years in category/commodity management within mining (2 in management), plus strong ERP and Office skills and excellent English.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 6/7 in Logistics, Purchasing or Business Management.
• 5 years relevant experience in Category/Commodity Management within Mining, with 2 years in a management role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics, SYSPRO, SAGE, SAP).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and compile RFT packs and processes.
• Govern shortlisting of potential vendors and invite to tender briefings.
• Develop Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models for tender benefits.
• Contract management and administration of new and existing contracts.
• Maintain security of supply and ensure procurement activities comply with governance, policies and legislation.
• Develop and implement the B-BBEE strategy in line with SA legislation.
• Interface between suppliers and stakeholders to advise on commodity management.
• Review spend data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and analyze the Procurement Operating Plan (POP) for CAPEX and OPEX to assess value and risk.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Coordination and compilation of Request for Tender (RFT) packs and process.
• Ensure governance in shortlisting potential vendors and invite to tender briefings.
• Develop Total cost of Ownership (TCO) models to establish tender benefits.
• Contract management and administration of new and existing contracts.
• Maintaining security of supply and ensuring that procurement activities comply with ethical corporate governance principles, company policies and applicable legislation.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and report on the organization's B-BBEE strategy, ensuring compliance with South African B-BBEE legislation while supporting business objectives.
• Act as an interface between suppliers and business stakeholders to provide expert advice on commodity management.
• Commercial value delivery - review spend data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and analyze the Procurement Operating Plan (POP - CAPEX and OPEX) to determine value and risk of services or goods required.

Requirements

• NQF Level 6 and/or NQF Level 7 in Logistics / Purchasing / Business Management.
• Five (5) years relevant experience within Category and/or Commodity Management within the Mining Industry, of which two (2) years should be at a management level.
• Proficiency in operating Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proven track record of ERP Systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SYSPRO, SAGE, SAP.
• Excellent communication skills in English - both written and verbal with a clear customer service orientation.
• Valid certificate of physical fitness.
