Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a seasoned Commercial Litigation Lawyer to lead dispute resolution for the organization. You will manage complex commercial cases from inception to resolution, including settlements, arbitration, or trial, and advise on risk and strategy.

The ideal candidate has extensive SA civil procedure knowledge, is a strong advocate, and will supervise junior staff while engaging with business stakeholders across the Free State.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with minimum 6 years of dedicated commercial litigation experience.
• Proven track record of successfully handling complex disputes in SA courts.
• Exceptional advocacy, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure and relevant commercial statutes.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute comprehensive litigation strategies for commercial disputes, including contract breaches and shareholder disputes.
• Manage all phases of the litigation process: pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and settlements.
• Represent the company in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to build strong arguments and anticipate opposing strategies.

About the Role

Our client requires a seasoned Commercial Litigation Lawyer to spearhead their dispute resolution efforts from their offices in Welkom . This critical role involves managing a caseload of complex commercial disputes, from inception through to resolution, whether by settlement, arbitration, or trial. You will be responsible for developing litigation strategies, conducting discovery, arguing motions, and representing the company in court. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional advocacy skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of commercial law and civil procedure in South Africa, playing a key role in protecting the company's interests in the Free State.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive litigation strategies for commercial disputes, including contract breaches, shareholder disputes, and intellectual property issues.
