Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Associate Attorney for our client, a respected law firm in Mahikeng, North West. The role focuses on commercial law, contract negotiation, and business advisory services, with a hybrid work model blending in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

The ideal candidate will be admitted to the High Court of SA with at least three years post-qualification experience, strong drafting skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload while serving local and national

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, company secretarial practices, and business administration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
• Willingness to embrace a hybrid work model, commuting to Mahikeng as needed.
• Familiarity with business operations in the North West region is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including service contracts, supply agreements, and partnership deeds.
• Advise clients on business formation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct legal research and provide comprehensive legal opinions.
• Manage corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions support.
• Assist in dispute resolution and litigation related to commercial matters.
• Liaise effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and relevant authorities.
• Maintain accurate client records and manage case files efficiently.
• Support senior partners in developing legal strategies for clients.
• Stay updated on changes in commercial law and business regulations.
