About the Role

Our client, a prominent logistics and distribution company with operations across Mpumalanga, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Driver to join their dynamic team in Nelspruit . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods to various commercial clients throughout the region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regional road networks, a commitment to safety, and the ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles competently. You will play a key role in maintaining the supply chain's integrity, representing our client professionally on the road. Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles, including rigid trucks and articulated trucks, safely and efficiently on designated routes.
• Transport a variety of goods and materials to different client locations across Mpumalanga .
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or necessary maintenance.
• Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded properly according to safety standards and client requirements.
• Adhere to strict delivery schedules and timeframes, optimizing routes for efficiency.
• Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, deliveries, and any incidents.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients regarding delivery status.
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients during delivery interactions.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's license with an unendorsed Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 4 years of verifiable professional driving experience, with experience in commercial freight transport.
• A clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
• Proven ability to operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles safely and skillfully.
• Good knowledge of the road network in Nelspruit and the broader Mpumalanga region.
• Strong navigational skills, including the use of GPS devices.
