Communicate Recruitment is seeking a Collections Lead for a fintech/financial services client in Cape Town CBD. This hybrid role focuses on leading external agencies, measuring performance, and driving continuous improvement across the collections and payments environment.

The successful candidate will optimise agency performance, manage complex escalations, and deliver data-driven insights to senior stakeholders while ensuring compliant customer treatment standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in Collections, Credit Operations, Financial Services, Payments, or a related environment.
• Experience managing and influencing external service providers, collection agencies, or operational partners.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical capabilities with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies independently.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in data-driven reporting.
• Understanding of South African credit legislation and collections best practices.
• Experience within lending, credit, collections, fintech, or financial services will be highly advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and optimise the performance of external debt collection agencies and other collections partners.
• Build strong relationships with service providers while holding them accountable to agreed service levels and performance targets.
• Analyse recovery trends, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective action plans.
• Perform detailed reconciliations, including collections payovers, commissions, exceptions, invoices, and accruals.
• Manage complex customer and partner escalations, investigating root causes and driving resolution.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and monitor adherence to customer treatment standards.
• Produce meaningful operational insights, management reports, and recommendations for process improvements.
• Identify opportunities for enhanced controls, automation, and operational effectiveness.

Salary: R30 000 - R40 000 per month

This is not a traditional collections management role focused on day-to-day transaction processing. Instead, you'll act as a key operational leader, ensuring external collection agencies and service providers deliver exceptional results while maintaining the highest standards of customer treatment and compliance.
