Job summary

The Recruitment Council is seeking a Broker Regional Sales Manager (Coastal Region) for the Durban area. You will lead the regional broker distribution strategy, expanding the insurer’s market footprint and managing Specialist Market Advisers to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in insurance distribution or broker leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven ability to build strategic broker partnerships while ensuring underwriting discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in commerce, business, finance, insurance or CFP.
• FAIS compliant with RE1 and RE5.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional sales and distribution plans aligned to business objectives.
• Drive growth in GWP, policy count, retention and profitability.
• Identify regional market opportunities and implement growth initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers and strategic partners.
• Lead, coach and develop Specialists Market Advisers to meet objectives.
• Monitor portfolio performance and ensure underwriting discipline.
