Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Cloud Security Architect to design and maintain secure cloud infrastructures for a fully remote team, with work from anywhere in South Africa. You will define security strategies and ensure compliance across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

You will lead security reviews, implement IAM, encryption, and network controls, and collaborate with DevOps to embed security into CI/CD. A strong background in cloud-native security and relevant certifications is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security with a focus on cloud security.
• Expertise in architecting and securing solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security tools, IAM, network security groups, and encryption.
• Strong understanding of containerization security (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless security.
• Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are highly valued.
