Placements24 is seeking an innovative Cloud Security Architect to design and implement secure cloud environments in Stellenbosch. You will ensure security and compliance of cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to embed security across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect or similar role.
• Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP and their security services.
• Experience designing secure network architectures, IAM, encryption, threat detection.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, and security automation.
• Strong knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless security.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures using cloud-native security services and best practices.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Conduct security reviews of cloud deployments and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Implement and manage IAM solutions for cloud environments.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures, leveraging cloud-native security services and best practices.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and guidelines across the organization.
• Conduct security reviews of cloud deployments, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
• Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions for cloud environments.
• Design and deploy security automation solutions for cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, alerting, and response.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure security is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect or in a similar cloud security engineering role.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective security services.
• Expertise in designing and implementing secure network architectures, IAM, data encryption, and threat detection in the cloud.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and security automation.
