Job summary

THE SKILLS MINE is seeking an IT User Support Professional in Cape Town to provide first-line technical support for hardware, software and cloud-based systems. You will troubleshoot issues, resolve user queries within SLA, and assist with onboarding by configuring equipment for new staff.

The role requires a diploma/NQF6 in IT, up to 3 years’ experience, and several certifications including MCSE Cloud Platform, ITIL, and ISO27001. Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or NQF Level 6 in IT or related field.
• Up to 3 years’ IT user support experience.
• Microsoft Desktop Support Administrator certification.
• MCSE – Cloud Platform and Infrastructure certification.
• ITIL Practitioner certification.
• ISO27001 Information Security Management certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and cloud-based systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues across the organisation.
• Manage and resolve user queries end-to-end within SLA timelines.
• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and systems.
• Support onboarding by setting up equipment for new employees.
• Maintain and repair system applications to ensure usability.
• Update IT service management systems and track support progress.
• Adhere to ITIL processes and asset management policies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to resolve escalated issues.
• Provide after-hours standby support on a rotational basis.
