Job summary

IQ-EQ is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting in Cape Town to lead client relationships and oversee delivery teams ensuring timely, compliant financial reporting. You will coach staff, manage priorities, and perform technical reviews of Annual Financial Statements under IFRS and US GAAP for investment funds.

Qualifications

• CA (SA) qualification with at least 2 years post-articles experience in a managerial role or 3 years post-articles experience if transitioning into a management position
• Strong technical expertise in IFRS and US GAAP, particularly within the investment funds industry
• Broad knowledge of IFRS standards across multiple jurisdictions enabling accurate and compliant financial reporting
• Apply sound accounting judgement and financial reporting knowledge to review, analyze, and resolve complex technical accounting matters
• Combine professional qualification, relevant post-articles experience, and strong technical accounting skills to effectively manage client engagements and financial reporting requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage client relationships while overseeing delivery teams, ensuring deadlines are met and client/auditor expectations are managed
• Coach and support junior staff, foster a collaborative team environment, manage multiple priorities and drive high-quality service delivery
• Perform technical reviews of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP across funds, VAT, payroll and related practices
• Communicate effectively with clients, auditors, Directors and internal teams to deliver financial information and address technical queries
• Identify value-adding opportunities by researching solutions and improving clients’ systems and processes
