Cleaning Products Specialist - Sales

Job summary

Staff-Focus is seeking a sales and account management professional to grow our customer base across South Africa. You will visit clients, demonstrate products, prepare quotes, and tailor solutions in the cleaning and hygiene sector.

The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed. A valid license and clean driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sales and account management, preferably within the cleaning, hygiene, chemical, industry.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their applications will be a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to build customer relationships and generate new business.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Computer literacy and the ability to prepare quotations and reports.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Will be required to travel and sleep out when needed (Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Free State, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
• Conduct customer visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
• Promote the company’s cleaning products, hygiene solutions, and related equipment.
• Prepare quotations, follow up on sales leads, and achieve agreed sales targets.
• Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Plan and coordinate store layouts for hardware installations and cleaning product displays.
• Conduct site visits to assess requirements and installation opportunities.
• Liaise with customers and installation teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure products are displayed correctly and in line with agreed specifications.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s cleaning chemicals, products, and equipment.
• Provide customer training on the correct use, dilution, handling, storage, and application of cleaning chemicals.
• Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical guidance to customers.
• Educate customers on chemical safety, correct procedures, and appropriate cleaning methods.
• Keep up to date with new products, industry developments, and cleaning technologies.
• Proactively identify new markets, customers, and sales opportunities.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to increase market share.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, and follow-up schedules.
• Work closely with internal sales, procurement, and management to ensure excellent customer service.
• Follow up on customer requirements, installations, and product-related queries.
