The Western Cape Government is seeking a dedicated cleaner for the Emergency Medical Services base in the Western Cape on a permanent basis. The role starts 28 Aug 2026 and involves cleaning offices, kitchens and ablution facilities to maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
Willingness to work shifts and weekends is required; health and safety procedures knowledge is essential. Experience as a cleaner in health facilities is preferred. Training and guidance will be provided where needed.
R 144 024 per annum - R 169 656 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

Appropriate experience as a Cleaner in a health facility environment. Proven experience in duties as mentioned below.
Willingness to work shifts and on weekends.
Cleaning of all offices, common areas, kitchens and ablution facilities of the EMS Base/Grounds, including deep cleaning and detailed cleaning tasks. Provide a clean, safe, and hygienic environment to prevent injuries and the spread of infection which includes sweeping, scrubbing, mopping of floors, dusting, polishing of floors and furniture, emptying bins daily, cleaning of windows, light shades, walls and all toilets, sluices and drains. Ensure that cleaning equipment e.g., polishing and scrubbing machines, mops, brooms, buckets etc. are clean after usage and securely stored. Ensure removal of general waste from building daily. Notify management of deficiencies or repairs required and ensure good stock control processes. Relief according to the needs of the service.
Basic numeracy and literacy.
Good time management. Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
