About the Role

Our client, a well-established national transport company, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Class 1 Truck Driver to operate interprovincial routes, based out of Bloemfontein, Free State . This role is essential for the timely and secure transportation of goods across various South African provinces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong professional driving record, a deep understanding of long-distance driving, and a commitment to adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. This is a hands-on, non-remote position that requires significant time spent on the road, ensuring goods reach their destinations reliably. Key Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 (Code 14) heavy-duty trucks for interprovincial freight transport.
• Plan and execute daily routes to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, documenting any issues.
• Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring correct weight distribution and cargo security.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, mileage records, and fuel consumption reports as per regulations.
• Adhere strictly to all national road safety laws, transportation regulations, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding schedules, delivery status, and any potential delays or issues.
• Ensure the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck cab and exterior.
• Handle any on-road challenges or emergencies in a safe and professional manner.

Requirements

• Valid South African Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) and Class 1 (Code 14) driver's license.
• A minimum of 4 years of verifiable professional driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles.

• Proven experience driving long-distance, interprovincial routes.
• Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and ability to perform basic maintenance checks.
