Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations safely and efficiently for regional deliveries.
• Transport freight in a timely manner, adhering to strict schedules.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics managers, and other team members.
• Perform minor roadside repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
• Ensure the cleanliness and operational readiness of the truck.
• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (or equivalent) driver's license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a Class 1 or equivalent truck driver.
• Excellent driving record, free from major violations or accidents.
• Proficiency in operating various types of commercial trucks and trailers.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, hours of service, and safety protocols.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Good physical health and the ability to perform all job duties.
• Familiarity with regional routes in the Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA area and beyond.
• Ability to use electronic logging devices (ELDs) and navigation systems.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
