Our client, a leading logistics provider operating out of Rustenburg, North West , is seeking an experienced and highly reliable Senior Truck Driver to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-duty trucks, including articulated vehicles, for long-haul transportation of goods.
• Plan and execute daily routes efficiently, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and optimising fuel consumption.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the truck and its cargo are secure and in optimal working condition.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery details, and any incidents or mechanical issues.
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics coordinators regarding route status, potential delays, and any delivery challenges.
• Provide excellent customer service during delivery and pick-up operations.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
• Assist with loading and unloading operations when required, following safe manual handling practices.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with a professional driving permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a professional truck driver, preferably in long-haul operations.
• Proven clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Excellent knowledge of road networks across South Africa , including an understanding of major routes and potential hazards.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical fitness to handle occasional loading/unloading and long hours of driving.
• Experience with fleet management software or electronic logging devices (ELDs) is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and drug/alcohol screenings.
• Familiarity with the transport and logistics sector in Rustenburg and surrounding areas is advantageous.
