Claims Relationship Manager

Aon South Africa is recruiting a Claims Relationship Manager, based in the Claims department at our offices in Sandton. This is a hybrid role. The role of the CRM is to maintain the relationship between the Aon claims department, the clients and the insurers.

What the day will look like:

Portfolio Management
Articulate the claims capabilities and operational proposition to clients and identify improvement opportunities. Manage the client portfolio across different policy lines (one view of portfolio). Monitor Outstanding Claims weekly to ensure claims are up to date and make progress; Escalate dormant or stalled matters.

Reports
Map client data in the Data Warehouse so that all client portfolios and claims are correctly represented across systems. Set up reports—agree type and frequency with the client and schedule from the Data Warehouse.

Aggregates
Monitor aggregate fund balances to prevent burn. Define aggregate processes with the client and implement them (e.g., excess payments / claims within excess). Notify insurers when an aggregate reaches 80% to arrange audits; sign-off of audits should be done quickly to avoid delays on claims outside the Aggregate after depletion. Prepare the Claims Management Agreement via the DocuSign process.

Fund Management
Ensure funds are requested by the Client Manager, deposited and available for payments. Close bank accounts when required.

Client Support
Set up and attend client meetings at the required frequency. Build client relationships through regular interaction and identify process needs for implementation.

New Business and Renewal
Assist with new business presentations (PowerPoint / mock-up dashboards / solutions). Attend new business presentations and present the Claims capabilities to prospective clients. Assist with renewal presentations (PowerPoint / dashboards / solutions).

Claims Advocacy
Assist with disputes and advise regarding rejections, complaints, and large or contentious losses.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or a relevant tertiary insurance-related qualification.
  • Registration with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS ACT.
  • Registration as an associate with the IISA.

Knowledge

  • Technical/professional knowledge of insurance principles, practices and fields.
  • Solid understanding of risk analysis methodologies.
  • Good understanding of the applicable legislative environment governing the insurance industry.

Skills and Attributes

  • Well-developed team leadership skills and ability to function in a team.
  • Good interpersonal relationships.
  • Sophisticated analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a similar or related role.
  • Extensive insurance experience.
