Placements24 is seeking an efficient Claims Handler in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga to manage short-term insurance claims. You will receive, assess, and process claims, verify policy details, and investigate circumstances to determine validity and liability, while maintaining accurate records and delivering excellent service to policyholders.

The role requires experience in short-term insurance claims, strong administrative skills, and effective communication to communicate decisions and requirements

Qualifications

• Matriculation certificate is essential; a relevant certificate or diploma in insurance (e.g., NQF Level 4 or 5) is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in claims handling, specifically within short-term insurance (e.g., motor, household, travel).
• Good understanding of short-term insurance products and claims processes.
• Familiarity with Short-Term Insurance Act, FAIS, and POPIA.

Responsibilities

• Receive, register, and assess incoming claims for short-term insurance policies.
• Verify policy details and coverage eligibility for each claim.
• Investigate claim circumstances, gather necessary documentation (e.g., incident reports, repair quotes, medical certificates).
• Determine claim validity and liability based on policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate claim status, decisions, and requirements clearly and promptly to policyholders and other relevant parties.
• Negotiate settlements within authorized limits.
• Process approved claims for payment and manage fraudulent claims appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim records in the company's system.
• Adhere to company procedures, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements.
• Contribute to improving claims processes and customer satisfaction.
