Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Delmas is seeking a CJM Driver to join the CJ Distribution team. The role involves delivering parcels to clients on a predefined route and schedule, loading/unloading goods, and ensuring orders are accurate and customers satisfied.

Essential requirements include a Grade 12, a valid Code B driver’s license, and 0–1 years driving experience. The driver must follow routes, adhere to safety rules, and provide excellent customer service during deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid unendorsed South African driver’s license. Minimum Code B (Code 08).
• Minimum 0-1 years’ driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver parcels to clients in a safe, timely manner.
• Review orders and ensure accuracy of charges.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Adhere to assigned routes and time schedules.
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with transport laws.
• Operate GPS/navigation devices and scanning equipment.
• Provide good customer service and obtain proofs of delivery.
• Prepare delivery reports for the Production Supervisor and sign off proofs of delivery.

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Delmas has an opportunity available for a CJM Driver to join the CJ Distribution team. To ensure efficient, timely and accurate delivery of required parcels to correct customers as determined by a predefined route and schedule. Ensure parcels are delivered in order and good condition.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 or Senior Certificate.

• Minimum 0-1 years’ driving experience.

Job Description:

Delivery:

• Ensure the right items are delivered to the right clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Operate equipment such as Speed Points and Scanning Devices.
• Anticipate and effectively communicate delays to all relevant stakeholders.

Customer Service:

• Ensure that all deliveries are correctly checked and signed for by the client.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from clients.

Reporting:

• Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Ensure all proof of deliveries presented to the Production Supervisor are correct and that they have been signed.
• Ensure all discrepancies and any issues regarding the delivery are accurately recorded and reported.

General:

• Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
• Adhere to CJM Agency Uniform standards.

• General knowledge of South African roads rules
• Finds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to elevate the problem and what level to elevate it to.

• Addresses customer questions in a timely manner. Ensures products and servicesdelivered are as per customers’ requirements.

• Practices safe driving habits as outlined within South African traffic law. Be aware ofother and their surroundings to actively avoid accidents and security risks at all times.
• Ability to use navigation software i.e. Google Maps or GPS Navigation devices.
• Ability to use a smartphone for communication via voice and text.
• Ability to receive payments via card machine or remote payment device.

Special conditions of employment:

• Be able to load and offload parcels to and from vehicle

Legal Requirements

• South African citizen
• MIE, no criminal record and clear credit rating
• Valid unendorsed South African driver’s license with PrDP
