Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer for Mossel Bay to work on planning, design and implementation of transportation projects, including roads, highways and traffic systems. You will contribute to mobility and connectivity in the Western Cape and participate in site visits in the Mossel Bay region.

The candidate should have a strong background in transportation engineering, traffic modeling, CAD and road design software, with a focus on SA road standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in transportation engineering.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Proven road design, traffic analysis and transportation planning experience.
• Proficiency in CAD and traffic modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of South African road design standards (e.g., COTO).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team; valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel locally for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan road networks, intersections, and transportation infrastructure.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and traffic impact assessments.
• Develop geometric design layouts and alignments for roadways.

Requirements
