Placements24 is seeking a Transportation Engineer for Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will lead planning, design and implementation of road networks, traffic management and multimodal infrastructure, working with local authorities and clients to improve mobility.

The role requires 5+ years in transportation engineering, proficiency in traffic modeling and an Eng/Pr Eng registration. You will mentor junior staff and contribute to sustainable urban development in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Transportation specialization.
• Pr Eng or Pr Engr candidate registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 5 years in transportation engineering and road design.
• Proficient in traffic modeling software.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Conduct traffic impact assessments and analyses for development projects.
• Design road intersections, interchanges and new road alignments.
• Develop traffic control strategies, including signal timing plans and signage recommendations.
• Prepare transportation planning studies and reports for municipal and private clients.
• Utilize traffic simulation software (e.g., VISSIM, CORSIM) for modeling and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer (Pr Engr).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic analysis, and road design.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling and simulation software.
• Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and transportation planning methodologies.
• Familiarity with South African road design standards and traffic regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder interaction.
• Ability to manage project tasks and contribute to team efforts in the Western Cape.
• Valid driver's license.
