Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Project Engineer in Randburg to manage end-to-end civil projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and contractors. You will drive planning, design through to construction and commissioning, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Civil Engineering with Pr Eng registration and at least six years of project management experience on infrastructure projects such as roads or water systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of civil engineering project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA required.
• Experience with infrastructure projects (roads, water/wastewater, or site development).

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil engineering projects from planning to closeout.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Civil Project Engineer to manage and oversee various civil engineering projects in Randburg. This role involves end-to-end project management, from initial planning and design through to construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing contractors, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and excellent leadership capabilities, contributing to significant infrastructure development in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against these milestones.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, consultants, and site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical and logistical issues as they arise.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, project teams, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering project management and execution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects such as roads, water/wastewater systems, or site development.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
