Placements24 seeks a Civil Engineer specializing in water resources to join their Bloemfontein team. The role covers design and management of water supply, wastewater, stormwater, and dam projects, with a mix of office work and site visits.

You will lead feasibility studies, prepare drawings and tender documents, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and regulators. A 5-year background in water resources and a Civil Engineering degree are required; ECSA registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Water or Environmental specialization.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng or Candidate Engineer preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water resources engineering including design & project management.
• Experience in water/wastewater treatment plant design or distribution systems.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modelling tools (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, EPANET).

You will be involved in all phases of project delivery, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction oversight. Requirements

• Proven experience in water and wastewater treatment plant design, or distribution/reticulation systems.
• Proficiency in relevant software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, EPANET, or similar hydraulic modeling tools.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel for site visits within Bloemfontein and the surrounding Free State areas.
