Job summary

Communicate Finance seeks a senior civil engineer to design and deliver infrastructure projects. You will prepare detailed designs, drawings, specifications and reports, and mentor junior staff.

You will coordinate with clients, contractors and other disciplines to ensure quality and compliance with municipal standards throughout the project lifecycle. Applicants should have a BTech/BEng Tech in Civil Engineering and be PR Tech Eng registered with ECSA, with South African residency or a valid SA

• BTech / BEng Tech in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional registration with ECSA as PR Tech Eng is required.
• South African residency or valid SA work permit is required.

Job Description:

• Design and develop civil engineering infrastructure projects
• Prepare detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Work on roads, stormwater drainage, and bulk earthworks projects
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other professional disciplines
• Provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle
• Review designs and deliverables to ensure quality and compliance
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists

Skills & Experience:

• Lead and manage the technical delivery of assigned civil engineering projects
• Undertake design calculations and develop practical engineering solutions
• Assist with project planning, coordination, and technical reporting
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, specifications, and municipal requirements
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical support to project teams
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and other stakeholders
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of the technical team
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience

Qualification:

• BTech / BEng Tech Civil Engineering qualification
• Professional registration with ECSA (PR Tech Eng)
