Medtronic in Johannesburg, South Africa is seeking a Senior IT Technologist Site Infrastructure & Operations responsible for designing, deploying and documenting infrastructure across offices, manufacturing, and labs.

You will support network, servers, storage, and backup; perform onsite hardware installs and cabling; coordinate vendors; and ensure reliability, security and business continuity through upgrades and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of IT infrastructure experience or advanced diploma with 6+ years.
• 3+ years hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks, servers, storage, and backup.
• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure incidents in enterprise environments.
• Experience with networking technologies, enterprise systems, and monitoring tools.
• Ability to perform onsite infrastructure work, including hardware installation up to 23 kg.

A Day in the Life

The Site Infrastructure & Operations function provides onsite infrastructure services that support Medtronic facilities across office, manufacturing, distribution, administrative, and laboratory environments. This team is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure services while supporting technology deployments, operational excellence, and business continuity across multiple locations.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of IT infrastructure experience OR Advanced Diploma with 6+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise networks, servers, storage, and backup technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure incidents in enterprise environments.
• Experience with network technologies, enterprise systems, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Ability to perform onsite infrastructure work, including hardware installation, cabling, and equipment handling up to 23 kg.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent networking certification.
