Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Civil Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of municipal infrastructure in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing water, sanitation, and road projects within the municipality.

You will work with municipal officials and contractors, ensure compliance with standards, and support public service delivery. A strong emphasis on collaboration and accurate design is essential for this public infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) preferred.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in municipal infrastructure design and project implementation.
• Experience with water, sanitation and road projects is essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil engineering design software.
• Understanding of South African municipal practices and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan municipal infrastructure projects, including water reticulation, sewer networks, and road upgrades.
• Prepare tender documents, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal projects.
• Supervise construction activities, ensuring quality standards and timelines.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Liaise with municipal departments, service providers, and the public on infrastructure matters.
• Ensure designs and projects comply with SANS standards and municipal policies.
• Assist in assessment and maintenance of existing municipal infrastructure.
• Respond to public queries and service delivery issues related to infrastructure.
• Utilize CAD software for design and drafting purposes.
