Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of civil infrastructure design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydrological/hydraulic tools.
• Knowledge of South African planning, design, and construction standards.
• Experience in the Eastern Cape is advantageous.

About the Role

This role involves the conceptualization, design, and documentation of various civil infrastructure, including roads, stormwater systems, and site development. You will work within a team of engineers and technicians to deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions for public and private sector clients. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil infrastructure projects, including site grading, drainage, and roadworks.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to inform design decisions.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national, provincial, and municipal standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new design technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant hydrological/hydraulic modeling tools.
