Job summary

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent experience in Child and Youth Care
• NQF Level 4 Child and Youth Care training
• Registration with SACSSP as Child and Youth Care Worker is essential
• Experience caring for babies/young children
• Good English/Afrikaans communication and time management

Responsibilities

• Provide care for children aged 0–5 years
• Support individual developmental needs of each child
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of children and spaces
• Lead daily developmental play and activities
• Assist with medication administration
• Complete daily shift handover reports
• Attend to hospital appointments with children when needed
• Work with volunteers and senior staff to ensure no child is left unattended
• Represent the organization positively at events
• Perform ad hoc duties as required by management
