About the Role

Our client, a leading legal services provider, is seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Senior Corporate Legal Counsel to join their dynamic team in Midrand, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Advise senior management on a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, service agreements, and partnership agreements.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with the company's operations and business strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including company law, contract law, and employment law.
• Oversee and manage litigation matters, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
• Provide legal training and guidance to business units and other stakeholders.
• Conduct legal due diligence for significant transactions.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry trends affecting the company's operations.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, preferably within a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
• Proven track record in advising on complex corporate transactions and commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate law, regulatory requirements, and governance principles.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• High level of professional integrity and ethical standards.
• Proficiency in legal research and standard office software.
• Experience in managing external counsel is advantageous.
