Job summary

CEF Trading in South Africa seeks an Executive: Legal and Compliance to provide strategic leadership and oversight of legal, governance, regulatory compliance and risk management. The role reports to the CEO and interacts with the Board and management to protect the organisation's interests and enable strategic transactions.

The candidate will have a strong background in complex commercial transactions, governance, and risk management within regulated industries, preferably in state-owned

Qualifications

• LLB/Commercial Law degree or equivalent.
• 10 years’ experience including 8 years at senior management level in legal, governance, compliance or regulatory environments.
• Attorney admission required.
• Experience supporting complex commercial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal, governance and compliance leadership to the CEO and Board.
• Oversee regulatory compliance obligations and risk management.
• Manage external legal advisors and specialists.
• Support governance, board processes and reporting.
