Placements24 is seeking a diligent Chemical Process Engineer to join their established Mossel Bay operations. You will optimize existing chemical processes, improve efficiency, and uphold safety and quality standards in a hands-on industrial setting.

Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives that ensure reliable chemical production in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in chemical process engineering, preferably in manufacturing or plant operations.
• Strong understanding of chemical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat/mass transfer.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze chemical process performance to identify efficiency, yield, and quality improvements.
• Implement process modifications and upgrades to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Troubleshoot deviations and equipment malfunctions, and develop corrective actions.
• Ensure operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to maintain equipment integrity and uptime.
• Support process hazard analyses (PHAs) and safety recommendations.
