Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Production Chemical Engineer to oversee operations at their Mossel Bay facility. You will ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production on the plant floor, troubleshoot issues, and push for operational excellence.

You will implement process improvements, develop and maintain SOPs, and collaborate with maintenance to maximize equipment reliability while strictly adhering to SHE policies and regulations in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in chemical production/manufacturing.
• Experience in process troubleshooting and plant optimization.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting plant issues, implementing process improvements, and managing production targets. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control chemical production processes to meet quality and output targets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems, conducting root cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical production or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in process troubleshooting and optimization within a plant setting.
• Strong knowledge of process safety principles and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
