Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Process Design Engineer for our Klerksdorp location with remote work flexibility. You will conceptualize, develop, and optimize chemical processes, creating detailed designs and simulations to meet market needs and efficiency targets.

The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering degree and at least 6 years of design experience, with proficiency in Aspen Plus or HYSYS. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Must have a Chemical Engineering degree.
• Minimum 6 years of chemical process design experience.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction kinetics.
• Experience with PFDs and P&IDs and equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual process designs and flow diagrams for new plants and processes.
• Perform process simulations to evaluate performance and optimize design parameters.
• Prepare detailed engineering specifications for equipment and instrumentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for proposed designs.
• Collaborate with project teams across mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
