Job summary

Greys Personnel is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join a hotel kitchen team. You will prepare, cook and present meals to the highest standard while ensuring food safety and cost control. The role requires a hands-on professional who can maintain quality and efficiency across service periods.

Minimum requirements include Grade 12 and a recognised culinary qualification, with at least 3 years in a formal kitchen. Proficiency in MS Office and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Recognised culinary qualification at NQF 4 or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 years' culinary experience in a formal kitchen setting.
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of food safety and health and safety procedures.
• Advantageous qualifications may include higher level diplomas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to a high standard and consistent quality.
• Follow recipes, SOPs and food preparation guidelines.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation and efficiency.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control.
• Ensure safety, hygiene and health compliance in all areas.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues and security concerns promptly.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of junior kitchen staff.
• Assist with performance management when required.
• Contribute to cost-containment and waste reduction efforts.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and extended hours as required.
