Job summary

City Lodge Hotels is seeking a skilled kitchen professional to ensure consistency with brand standards and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will perform diverse kitchen duties, from meal preparation to supervising junior staff, while upholding safety and quality guidelines.

Role requires long hours, shifts, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Strong communication, teamwork, and commitment to service excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with SAQA registered qualification.
• National Certificate (Vocational) in Hospitality (NQF4) or CATHSSETA Professional Cookery (NQF4) - SAQA registered.
• Computer literacy essential, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
• Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Operations Management (NQF5) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Achieves financial controls by implementing and maintaining cost containment measures.
• Performs all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Complies with Food Health & Safety audit, Disaster Management and Health and Safety requirements always.
• Utilises operating equipment correctly per manuals.
• Maintains brand and group standards to ensure consistency in service levels across hotels.
• Identifies enhancements to improve product offering, service delivery, productivity and efficiencies.
• Maintains high cleanliness, presentation and service to all guests.
• Participates in and manages the hotel’s human resource function per HR policies.
• Conducts and tracks attendance of direct reports and training.
• Fosters good relationships with hotel employees and company colleagues.
• Upskills and develops personal growth plans through development activities.
