Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• National Certificate (Vocational) in Hospitality (NQF 4) or CATHSSETA Professional Cookery (NQF 4) – recognised culinary qualification.
• Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite, is essential.
• Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Operations Management (NQF 5) is advantageous.
• A Culinary related Diploma is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Achieves financial controls by implementing and maintaining all cost containment measures.
• Performs all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Complies with Food Health & Safety audit, Disaster Management and Health and Safety requirements.
• Utilises all operating equipment according to manuals and instructions.
• Maintains and enhances brand and group standards to ensure consistency in service levels across group hotels.
• Communicates any enhancements to improve product offering, service delivery, productivity and efficiencies.
• Maintains high levels of cleanliness, presentation and service to guests.
• Participates in and manages the hotel’s human resource function in line with HR policies.
• Conducts and participates in legislative and operational training, tracking attendance of direct reports.
• Maintains good working relationships with hotel employees and company colleagues.
• Upgrades personal growth plans through development activities.
