Job summary

TWK Agri in Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a cashier in the Trade division. You will manage customer transactions, process payments, issue receipts and change, and keep the checkout area clean and orderly.

Duties include stocking shelves, pricing items, conducting stock takes, bagging merchandise, greeting customers, and assisting with general store tasks. Matric/Grade 12, computer literacy and prior cashier experience are preferred; Afrikaans, English and Zulu is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 required.
• Computer literate with basic arithmetic.
• Previous cashier experience preferred.
• Ability to handle money and give accurate change.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Tri-lingual: Afrikaans, English, Zulu (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Bag, box, wrap merchandise and prepare shipments.
• Compute and record transactions.
• Count cash in drawers at shift start for accuracy.
• Sort, count and wrap notes and coins.
• Establish or identify prices and tabulate bills using cash registers or scanners.
• Greet customers as they enter the store.
• Issue receipts, refunds or change due to customers.
• Maintain balance sheets of transactions.
• Receive payment by cash or card.
• Keep checkout areas clean and orderly.
• Stock shelves and mark prices.
• Do stock takes.
